Our home is the Stratton Mountain School, a beautiful boarding academy located a quarter mile from the base of Stratton Mountain Resort, VT. The Stratton Mountain School's state-of-the-art campus is within easy walking distance of Stratton's charming resort base area. SMS is also the site for the American Dance Training Camp Green Mountains dance camp for girls ages 8 - 17.

What's Included?
The "Training Program" is a 50-Hour Dance Certification for teachers & choreographers. It includes training by Senior American Dance Staff in anatomy & kinesiology; dance technique; dance class sequencing; history & philosophy; dance combinations & choreography; successful business practices; and American Dance core values. The "Room & Board" fee includes lodging and daily meals from Thursday night dinner through Wednesday morning breakfast.

Life at ADU in Stratton, Vermont
At the SMS, dance teacher trainees are housed together in double, triple or quad-style dorm rooms, providing a community-living environment great for networking and making new friends! Amenities include community lounges (for watching TV and hanging out), laundry facilities, and a "Dance Canteen" for basic supplies, snacks, beverages and American Dance apparel and souvenirs.
If you live in Southern Vermont or will be staying nearby, you are welcome to attend the dance teacher training as a day student. We even partner with area hotels to offer vacation packages - contact us for more information! Day students participate in all classes and activities with residential students, but pay the "Training Program" fee only. Day students must purchase a meal card.
